Candle workshop: discover the art of wax with an artisan 🕯️

Candle-making is a fun way to develop your creative spirit and manual skills! Find the best workshops near you on our platform.

How a candle workshop works

If you're wondering how a workshop works, thanks to Funbooker, discover the essential steps!

Step 1️⃣

Before you begin, you'll need to select a type of wax (vegetable, animal or mineral wax) and a food coloring agent or coloring powder. You can also opt for essential oils or perfume to add a soothing fragrance to your candle.

Step 2️⃣

Attachthe wick to the center of the container. Tape the end of the wick to a skewer positioned horizontally above the container. It should be straight and well drawn.

Step 3️⃣

Mix the wax and colorant in a double boiler, using a spatula. Once the mixture has become liquid, you can add the essential oils: just a few drops are all you need!

Step 4️⃣

Finally, at the end of the candle workshop, pour the hot wax into the container. Leave it to cool. Once the candle is completely hardened, you can cut the wick if it's too long.

Different types of wax

Each type of wax brings its own unique properties, offering infinite possibilities for personalizing your creations.

Beeswax

This product of animal origin comes from the secretion of bees. Its yellowish color is due to the pollen and propolis it contains.

Soy wax

This natural, 100% vegan ingredient is ideal for creating long-lasting candles! Its relatively low flame ensures slow combustion.

Kerosene wax

This is a chemical product. This hydrocarbon is extracted at low temperatures from petroleum residues.
