Activity description :

Located near the Préfecture Maritime and the Tour de l'Horloge at the entrance to the arsenal, discover Toulon's Musée National de la Marine. Created at the end of the First Empire, it houses an impressive collection of models, paintings and maritime objects.

Tour advantages :

  • Several areas with different themes: Vauban, creator of the first arsenal under Louis XIV; models, produced on a very large scale, and presents representative of the Franco-Russian alliance established from 1891 to 1914.
  • Since the inauguration of a new tour in March 2011, the museum also highlights the establishment of the navy in Toulon and its impact on the city's development.

  • Open all year round, but not every day
  • Between September and May: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. every day except Tuesday
  • Between June and August: 10am-6pm daily
  • Last admission 1 hour before museum closes
  • Exceptionally closed on May 1 and December 25
  • Annual closure in January
