Fontenay-le-Comte racing track : everything you need to know for a successful driving experience

Track history

The Fontenay-le-Comte track is one of the most famous in the Vendée. It is a very recent motor racing track, since the idea of building it was first mooted in 2008. In 2009, the Pôle Innovation Automobile project was launched, and the following year, the track was opened at the same time as the relay workshops.

Since 2014, new developments have included the opening of the business hotel, the extension of the Paddock, the reopening of the Michetterie karting track, the construction of the stalls and the launch of the Indoor Electric Karting project.

Formerly known as Piste Fontenay Pôle 85, the track will become "Les Tracks de Vendée" in 2019.

Technical specifications & layout

The Fontenay Le Comte track is 2,400 meters long and features several types of bends and sequences. A straight stretch of almost 800 meters enables speeds approaching 300 km/h.

The layout of the car-motorcycle track comprises two separate loops: an eastern loop of 1,221 meters and a western loop of 1,065 meters. It is 9 metres wide.

Without rails or walls, it invites drivers to try their hand at an open constant-radius turn, a constant-radius turn, a progressive-radius turn, a double technical turn with different radii and a tight one with an ideal chord point.

At the same time, the Michetterie track is an asphalt track for competition and leisure, road safety, electric vehicle testing and more. There's also a 4×4 track, mainly for SUVs.
