Issoire racing track : the guide to a successful driving experience

History

Located in Issoire, just 30 minutes from Clermont-Ferrand and bordering the A75 freeway, the Track d'Issoire is an institution for motoring enthusiasts in the Auvergne region.

Located inthe heart of the Puy-de-Dôme region, the track was designed by a former Michelin engineer. The track was bought over 20 years ago by Agostino Turuani, a motor sport enthusiast and former amateur rally driver.

This former Monaco resident now rents out the 2 tracks that make up the racing track: one asphalt and one dirt.

He offers driving courses on the track in the most legendary sports cars, and also provides a room with a large collection of racing cars.

Technical specifications & layout

The asphalt track, 2,474 m long and 9 m wide, offers several different layouts, each with its own level of technical difficulty.

With its 745 m long straight line and 8 bends, all with a clearance zone, you can get a shot of adrenalin and test your driving skills in complete safety.

As for the dirt track, it's 2000 m long, 6 to 9 m wide, with a hairpin bend and a jump section, so you can get to grips with rallying and experience a new way of driving.

From the moment you arrive at the track until your departure, you can also take advantage of the workshops and the paddock, with its covered terraces and bar.

Activities on offer

The Issoire track offers a wide range of activities. On the asphalt track, you can try your hand at track driving with a GT car driving course, the price of which will vary according to the vehicle and the number of laps chosen (from 2 to 10).

You'll be able to get behind the wheel of some of the world's finest marques, including Nissan GTR, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Ford Mustang, Shelby AC Cobra, Porsche 991 and Caterham Cup.

1h30 driving lessons are also available, with sports cars or your own vehicle, to perfect your technique. Thanks to its rally track, the Issoire track is one of the only private tracks open to the public to offer driving courses on gravel.

There's something for everyone, whether you're a beginner or an experienced driver. Aboard a rally-modified Golf TDI and Ds3, you can choose between a 1h30 discovery package, with a driving session on a rally-type track, a half-day package for an introduction to advanced dirt-driving techniques, and a full-day package focused on perfection and performance.

To take advantage of the Issoire track's activities, you need to have a valid driving license, and insurance is available on site to cover any damage to vehicles.
