Ladoux racing track: the guide to a successful driving course

Are you a racing fan who never misses the Formula 1 Grand Prix? Deep down, you're dying to discover track driving with experienced professional drivers?

If you live in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, the legendary Michelin track in Ladoux is the place for you. Whether you're a beginner or not, get behind the wheel of a sports car and enjoy extraordinary trajectories!

History

The Ladoux Michelin track is located on a 45 km site in the Puy-de-Dôme department, just 9 km from Clermont-Ferrand.

It is the best test track in the world. Here, Michelin conducts a wide range of tire tests, including wet and dry grip, noise and comfort tests.

In all, the speed track has 20 tracks, 2 of which are open to motor sport clubs and schools offering driving courses: a dirt track and an asphalt track.

Instructors will accompany you on your sports car baptisms on the racetrack and help you to perfect your driving skills.

Track configuration and length

The 2 tracks feature superb straights and a series of tight bends with turning radii ranging from 30 to 240 meters. The dry track is 2.7 km long and the wet track, known as the Canard, is 2.3 km long.

The width of the roads and the clear zones allow for safe practice of all aspects of motor racing: acceleration, braking, steering, reduction of centrifugal force...

Unforgettable sensations aboard sports cars

A unique driving experience

Trainees taking part in their first driving experience on a racetrack are first given a briefing on the different sports cars, the basics of driving and road safety rules.

After watching a race on the track as passengers, it's time to enjoy their toy! The instructor is always at their side during the laps (between 2 and 10, depending on the formula chosen).

They learn to brake, accelerate and steer with their racing car.
