One-Day Beekeeping Workshop: Immersion at an Apiary Near Toulouse

Discover the art of beekeeping in Daux, just 20 minutes from Toulouse! Whether you’re a nature lover or simply curious, Delphine will share her expertise with you in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Combining in-depth theory with hands-on experience at the apiary, this day will help you understand the life cycle of bees and how to manage colonies.

Schedule for the day (8 hours):

• Morning theory session: an introduction to the biology of honeybees, their social organization, hive health management, honey flow cycles, and environmental challenges. Discussion to build a foundation before the hands-on session.
• Lunch break: Please bring a picnic lunch, or you can eat at a restaurant just a 5-minute drive away.
• Afternoon at the apiary: putting on beekeeping suits, learning to use the smoker and frame lifter, then opening several hives. Assessing colony health, locating the queen, inspecting the brood, and safely managing the supers.
• Tasting and discussion: guided tasting of local honeys, introduction to pollen and propolis, followed by a review of observations.
