Initiation to wine tasting" oenology course in Lyon, France

It was a gift because I'm a big wine fan. I'm disappointed, seeing the starting price, I was expecting to learn a lot about wines and discover some great exceptions. In the end, the choice of wines, apart from the Chablis and the 2 Bordeaux of different ages, wasn't really there, and serving us a Rivesalte at the end, I sincerely don't see the point, except for the person who has been drinking wine for a short time. You'll tell me, it's all a matter of taste. Unfortunately, the trainer didn't deliver. Arrived late. But he had a back-up at home. In that case, next time, he should take the 2 PCs with him, then arrive 30 minutes or 1 hour early to test the installation. We started late and ended up tasting the last 3 wines in a hurry, checking off very quickly, based solely on the trainer's opinion... nice demo on the smell with your tester boxes, except that one didn't work, bad publicity for yet another thing that seems nice but is so expensive that it has to work, and it didn't. The trainer talks about numerous anemones, and how they can't work. The trainer tells us a lot of anecdotes, but rarely related to wine, so if all his anecdotes were related to the world of wine, it would be fascinating, but is he really passionate about wine? Or is it just a business? Location, the maman shelter. Hotel guests take their breakfast, you could offer a welcome drink, but nothing, we cross the street to the white room. Very academic. Groups of 5 at tables. No workshop to justify this proximity, which is ultimately pointless and brings nothing to the table. Disappointing.

Average, little learning to taste the wines, too much information that doesn't belong in vog 1 but rather in vog 2 or 3... having already done vog 1 last year, I don't think I'll do vog 2 ..... shame

A dense and very rewarding course. A suggestion: suggest a light accompaniment such as small canapés... with the wine.

A good first approach to wine tasting. Friendly and interesting speaker. It's a pity that, for lack of time, the comparison of two vintages of the same wine was so quick.

Very comprehensive course, provides a very good knowledge base for tasting. 6 wines tested with the instructor, great atmosphere with the instructor and the group! Highly recommended if you want to learn how to taste as well as find out more about vines, grape varieties, winemaking etc...

Very nice experience, small friendly group, very interesting speaker, the course went by extremely quickly. For a beginner, it's really a wonderful discovery and a different vision of wine tasting. Nothing will ever be the same again. With the desire to move on to level 2
