On this special day, enjoy some time with friends aboard a magnificent sailboat for a cruise on the Arcachon Basin. Not only will you be able to admire the surrounding scenery, but the cruise is primarily designed to teach you the basics of sailing.

Thierry, your professional skipper—who is passionate about sailing and loves the sea—will accompany you on this excursion to teach you sailing techniques in a clear and engaging way.

You’ll set sail aboard the White Pearl, an elegant 13-meter-long cruising sailboat, an X43 model from X-Yachts. These comfortable and powerful boats are renowned for their speed on the water. They can handle everything from light breezes to strong winds thanks to their high-end equipment. It is equipped with a large wheel, oversized winches (including one electric winch), precision electronics, chartplotters, a depth sounder, a speedometer, an autopilot, and even a music system. It features 3 double cabins, 2 shower/toilet cabins, heating, hot water, and a refrigerator. Its elegant teak deck is ideal for sunbathing, and its sheltered cockpit welcomes you on cooler days or outside the summer season.

Available excursions:

• Discovery/Introductory Tour, 4 hours, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: for a first taste of sailing while enjoying the surrounding scenery.
• Active sailing excursion, 2 hours, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM: for experienced sailors, learn navigation techniques in stronger winds and how to adapt to the weather.
• Sunset on the Arcachon Basin, 3 hours, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM: an introduction to sailing a boat while admiring the sunset.
• Full-Day Sailing Trip, 7 hours, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM: Take a full day to learn sailing skills and the basics of how a sailboat operates.

How the excursions work:

• Please arrive a little early at the beach at the Port of Arcachon to board the sailboat.
• Settle in on the boat and set sail on the Arcachon Basin. Depending on the length of your excursion, you’ll discover the following sites: Cap Ferret, the Dune du Pilat, the Île aux Oiseaux situated in the middle of the Bassin, the picturesque little oyster-fishing villages of L’Herbe and Le Canon, and the stilt houses...
• During the excursion, Thierry will teach you the main rules of sailing: holding a course, adjusting the sails according to the wind conditions, tacking, and steering the boat with the helm…
• Swim break and snack/meal on board. Feel free to ask Thierry to order delicious local specialties to enjoy on board: a seafood platter, local charcuterie, and an oyster tasting.
• Return to the harbor. Everyone can once again take part in sailing or simply relax and enjoy the time on the sailboat.
• Arrival at the port and end of the excursion.
