Introduction to catamaran piloting on the Arcachon basin

Come and learn to sail a catamaran for a session (10am-2pm) with Thierry, your instructor.

Introduction to piloting

Duration: 4 hours

During this complete initiation, Thierry, a professional skipper with a passion for catamarans and the sea, will be delighted to pass on his knowledge. The activity begins with a presentation of the boat and the maneuvers to be performed. You'll then set sail for an open area of the Bay of Arcachon to take advantage of the boat's speed and perform the first maneuvers: acceleration by tacking the sails and controlling the trajectory with the helm. At the end of the activity, you'll have the opportunity to return to the harbor to put into practice the navigation techniques for piloting the catamaran.

The catamaran

You'll climb aboard a multihull racing catamaran to discover the sensations of sport sailing, with hands-on practice in sail trimming, heading, acceleration and more. Appreciated for their speed, catamarans also feature shallower draughts, enabling them to be anchored closer to shore.
