Would you like to sail independently, whether at sea or on a river? Get your coastal or river boating license from the age of 16, and take the helm of a pleasure boat with more than 6 horsepower.
The coastal license allows you to navigate at sea up to 6 miles from a shelter, day or night, but also on certain enclosed lakes.
The fluvial license, meanwhile, authorizes navigation on rivers, canals and inland waterways.

The training program
1.
Theory
- Boat code study at home via the Littoral Nautic platform
- Theory lessons: minimum 5 hours face-to-face + 1.5 hours theoretical practice
- 40-question MCQ exam (max. 5 errors)

- Coastal and river buoyage (day/night)
- Navigation and safety rules
- Sound, harbor, weather and distress signals
- Navigation lights, compulsory armament
- Ecology, radiotelephony, weather
2.
Practical
- Maneuvers, docking, undocking
- Driving in real-life situations
- Safety on board, weather reading, respect for buoyage
- (Practical training not required if you already hold the other license)
To be provided for registration :
- 1 passport photo
- 1 medical certificate (official model available for download)
- 1 copy of both sides of an identity document
- 1 €78 digital tax stamp (for issuance of license)
