The Circuit Paul Armagnac, also known as the Circuit de Nogaro, is a motor racing track in the Gers department of France. Its history is rather atypical: in 1952, Robert Castagnon, an Armagnac producer but also an automobile enthusiast, created the Ecurie Armagnac.
His idea was to launch a competition. However, as driving could not take place in the streets of Nogaro, he decided to build a permanent track.
Thanks to the quality of its organization, Nogaro has become a Mecca for professional racing. For drivers of cars, motorcycles, trucks and even cyclists, the track has become a meeting place for great emotions.
Located in the Gers region, Nogaro can be reached from the A65 freeway. It is easy to reach from the airports of Pau - Pyrénées (60 km), Tarbes - Ossun - Lourdes (70 km) or Toulouse - Blagnac and Bordeaux - Mérignac (140 km).
Inaugurated on October 3, 1960, the Paul Armagnac de Nogaro is the first permanent racing track in France. Since 1989, the total length of the track has been 3,636 metres. The airfield straight measures 1 kilometer. The track has 14 bends (5 left and 9 right).
This figure also corresponds to the width of the runway since 1987. Three configurations are possible: the layout offers 3 routes for pilots.
In general, the track is renowned for its technical corners, particularly the Caupenne snail. The track, which was resurfaced in January 2009, has 2 types of surface: ruflex on the curves and draining on the straights.
Finally, used for almost 300 days a year, the track is equipped with a video system enabling the entire track to be monitored from the safety control centre.
Formula Renault, Mégane RS, Mitjet 1300, Caterham Roadsport, Formula Renault or Porsche 911 (997) GT3: the driving school's baptisms allow you to take your place in prestigious sports cars, with a choice of 8 vehicles including sedans, GTs, a single-seater or a two-seater.
Driving courses allow you to test drive a Clio RS, Caterham or Porsche 911. The center also allows you to use your own vehicle for a course. This coaching formula enables you to learn to control your own vehicle on the circuit, accompanied by an instructor.
Club days are offered on the track. On average, 24 club days (12 car and 12 motorcycle) are organized each year on the Paul Armagnac track. Whether you're an amateur or a pure enthusiast, licensed or unlicensed, these days are open to all. A team of professionals will supervise you in complete safety.
