Come discover the world of Belgian bookbinding during a workshop with Caroline, an experienced artisan in Aix-en-Provence.

Belgian bookbinding, also known as “Criss Cross,” involves joining the two cover boards and the spine using a crisscross stitch, allowing the book to open completely to a . Its attractive visible stitching is what makes it so unique!

Workshop Schedule (3 hours):

• Welcome with tea or coffee, followed by an introduction to Belgian bookbinding and the tools and materials needed to create it
• Selection of materials—threads, fabrics, papers, and decorations—for the personalized cover of your notebook
• Then we’ll get started on crafting and assembling the cover and spine, following the “criss-cross” pattern
• Sewing the notebook sections inside the cover
• Decorate the cover however your imagination leads you, with guidance from Caroline

Notebook sizes can range from A6 to A5, square, and other similar formats: a variety of cardstock and pre-cut notebook inserts will be available—the choice is yours!
