A coastal license is essential if you want to sail freely on a jet-ski or any motorboat under 24 meters in length, with more than 6 horsepower. It authorizes you to sail up to 6 miles from a shelter, or around 11 kilometers from the coast, giving you the chance to explore the coastline, creeks and nearby harbors.

How does it work?

• Theory: the course includes 7 hours of classroom instruction dedicated to learning the maritime code. You'll learn all the essentials for safe navigation: lights and buoys, signalling, radio use, maritime regulations, safety rules and best practices for protecting the marine environment.
• Practical: the practical part takes place over 2 to 3 sea outings, each lasting around 2 hours, spread over 1 to 2 days, depending on your availability. Supervised by a certified instructor, you will be trained in boat handling, docking and undocking maneuvers, as well as managing real-life situations at sea, all under continuous supervision to validate your skills at your own pace.

The course lasts a minimum of 11 hours, and you'll be accompanied throughout by a professional trainer who will explain the theory and practice of navigation at sea, so you can earn your boating license!
