Discover the intricate and colorful world of mosaics alongside Elisabeth! This passionate artisan invites you to create a one-of-a-kind jewelry set. Glass paste, smalt, Venetian glass, mirror, marble, and even handcrafted glass: take advantage of a wide selection of materials to design a piece that reflects your personality.
Workshop itinerary (2 hours):
- Welcome and studio tour: Elisabeth welcomes you to her studio and gives you a tour of her workspace to introduce you to the materials, tools, and various techniques used in mosaic art.
- Choosing Your Set: Select the shape of your pendant—square, oval, or rectangle—and the design of the matching ring or pair of earrings.
- Exploring materials and tools: Explore and handle the various materials available to you. Learn how to use traditional mosaic-making tools such as mosaic pliers, a hammer, and a glass cutter.
- Preparing and cutting the tesserae: Prepare your adhesive, then cut your tesserae—the small pieces of material that make up the mosaic—to create your own design.
- Composition and gluing: Assemble and glue each tessera with precision to bring an original and personalized jewelry set to life, guided step by step by Elisabeth.
At the end of this session, you’ll leave with your beautiful pair of jewelry pieces—which you’ll be eager to wear or give as a keepsake of this wonderful creative experience!
