Come and learn the delicate art of bobbin lace, which involves using threads and pins on a special cushion to create intricate , refined patterns , skilfully crossing the threads to form fine, elegant lace.

Workshop schedule (2h):

• Discover lacemaking equipment: familiarize yourself with all the tools and materials specific to bobbin lace, from bobbins to pins and cushions.
• Reading a lacecard: learn how to interpret a lace card, the visual guide that shows you the movements required to create patterns.
• Master the 2 basic crossings: learn the two basic crossings used in most bobbin laces.
• Making different types of lace: you'll learn how to make a rope, a Cluny foot, a guipure foot, a smooth-edged foot, crossings of 6, crossings of 8, a picot, the mat and the grid, all characteristic elements of lace.
• Finishing a work: you'll have the opportunity to put your new skills into practice by finishing a bobbin lace work, allowing you to see your progress in concrete terms.
