Louis XIV, already a formidable young monarch, orders d’Artagnan, captain of the Musketeers, to arrest Nicolas Fouquet, Superintendent of Finances and one of the most powerful men in the kingdom. Officially, Fouquet is accused of embezzlement. But behind this spectacular arrest lie far more personal rivalries: the King’s jealousy of this lavish patron, a shadow cast over the future “Sun.”

Follow in Fouquet’s footsteps through Vincennes, where he was imprisoned before his trial. Follow the clues scattered throughout the historic town and around the castle, then step inside its walls to uncover the secrets of this arrest, which marked the beginning of Louis XIV’s absolute reign.
