Join Huglyana for a Japanese floating ink workshop! Experience a new way of learning: more vibrant, sensory, and deeply human. Born out of a deep love for Japan, this hybrid workshop introduces you to the Japanese language while teaching you the artistic techniques of suminagashi, allowing you to create beautiful marbled designs on the medium of your choice!

Workshop Outline:

  • Introduction to the art of floating ink, a captivating and versatile traditional Japanese technique.
  • Choose your medium: a fan, a postcard-sized sheet of rice paper, or a clay piece.
  • Create your marbling designs with personalized guidance from NEO HINODE.
  • Discover the invisible world of the yokai—mysterious creatures from Japanese folklore—along with the basics of the Japanese language: grammar, phonetics, and vocabulary.

You’ll leave with your own unique creation, made with your own hands! A creative and sensory workshop, perfect for discovering the many facets of Japan throughout the seasons!
