This tour presents a surprisingly calm stroll through the bustling Bastille and Faubourg Saint Antoine districts of Paris. All the courtyards and passageways, though renovated and occupied by new trades, retain an undeniable charm and often traces of a bygone era.

Your visit

For decades, hammers and saws vibrated in courtyard workshops that smelled of fresh wood. Furniture factories with their renowned expertise had invaded the whole of the Faubourg Saint-Antoine. When the Bastille opera house was built, the southern part of the 11th district underwent a radical transformation, becoming a fashionable district. Artisans gradually gave way to cafés and trendy boutiques. Throughout the arrondissement, courtyards and passages reveal a secret and still protected Paris.

Around a series of discreet courtyards, a meeting is planned with one of the neighborhood's last craftsmen in his workshop. (Subject to professional commitments).
