Experience an expedition that's both scientific and responsible, in the heart of an exceptional marine area. The Basque-Landes coast is one of Europe's best observation areas. During this day at sea, you'll become an observer for a day: your photos, observations and data will enrich research. All the information collected on board will be transmitted to thePelagis Observatory in La Rochelle, which feeds the national marine mammal monitoring database.
The route - departing from the Port of Hendaye
Duration: 7h30
Departing from the port of Hendaye at 8:30 am, you set sail for 7:30 am, aboard a spacious, stable and comfortable vessel accompanied by a dedicated naturalist guide and marine biodiversity specialists. During the day, you'll be able to observe dolphins, seabirds and other species, listen to cetaceans using hydrophones (vocalizations, whistles, clicks), take part in photo-identification or use on-board educational equipment (binoculars for hire, naturalist aids). Return to port around 4pm, after a day rich in discoveries and emotions.
The boat
You'll boardAtalaya, the only passenger ship in France to display the Blue Flag. These distinctions guarantee respectful approaches, limited observation time, no swimming or feeding, rigorous ship maintenance and an ongoing commitment to sustainable tourism.
