Join us for this exceptional wine tasting, accompanied by a lunch featuring Galician specialties.

Galicia is the destination of choice for Spaniards looking to enjoy fine cuisine and wine. Here, in the north of the Iberian Peninsula, exceptional wines are produced, far from large industrial operations and mechanized production.

On the agenda:

  • This experience in A Coruña will focus on Galician wines, exploring the history of our vineyards, our various grape varieties, our geography, and our climate.
  • We’ll discuss the five Designations of Origin (DO) we have in Galicia and taste the three best-known grape varieties: Godello, Albariño, and Mencía—two whites and one red.
  • However, this will be an interactive experience. Together, we’ll go through the three stages of our wine tasting: visual, olfactory, and gustatory analysis. No prior knowledge of wine is necessary—it’s an enjoyable activity for everyone, not just wine connoisseurs.
  • Each participant will have their own wine tasting scorecard, and we’ll discuss each wine together.
  • We’ll start with a Galician cheese platter paired with each wine. We’ll then pair each wine with traditional Galician tapas to bring out their flavors, and we’ll finish with a sweet treat.

The activity includes:

  • A full lunch
  • Wines paired with the dishes on the menu.

Sample menu (for illustrative purposes only; subject to change depending on the season and market availability):

  • Galician cheese platter, featuring three different types of local cheeses that we’ll pair with each of the three wines as the tasting progresses
  • Potato, egg, crab stick, and tuna salad with mayonnaise, served on a wheat cracker. Paired with Godello (white).
  • Langoustine cocktail with avocado, bell peppers, red onion, and lime vinaigrette. Paired with Albariño (white).
  • Traditional Galician meat pie. Paired with Mencía (red).
  • Dessert: Santiago cake (almond cake)

The experience will take place from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.; the hosts speak English and Spanish.
