Discover linocut printing through a creative workshop that combines writing, imagination, and artistic expression. Explore what brings you peace, protects you, or recharges you to create a personal work inspired by your own world and emotions.
Workshop Outline:
- Guided creative writing: Begin with a writing exercise to bring forth words, images, and ideas related to your inner sanctuary. No special writing talent is required—this exercise simply serves as a starting point for your creation.
- Designing the motif: Based on this exploration, imagine and sketch a motif inspired by a real or imaginary place, a landscape, an object, a symbol, or a sensation.
- Introduction to linocut: Discover the different steps of this technique, from transferring your drawing onto the plate to carving with gouges.
- Inking and printing: Ink your plate and print your creation on paper to watch your image gradually take shape.
- Personalized guidance: Throughout the workshop, you’ll be guided step by step as you explore the technique, while retaining the freedom to create a piece that reflects your unique style.
Leave with your printed linocut—a unique creation born of your imagination—as well as the memory of a creative moment to slow down, experiment, and explore your inner world. The goal isn’t to produce a perfect piece, but to enjoy the process of creating and watching your idea take shape, from the first sketches to the final print.
