Activity description :

  1. 1 hour30 minutes
  2. Up to 9 people
  3. From 18 years old

A Grasse-based perfumer since 1926, Fragonard invites you to the Perfume Museum in Paris to learn about perfumery and offers you the chance to create your own eau de cologne in the Perfumer’s Workshop. You’ll then enjoy a self-guided audio tour of the museum.

Activity itinerary (1 hour 30 minutes):

  • History of perfumery, origins of raw materials.
  • Exploration of raw materials and essences from the perfumer’s organ.
  • Explanation of the olfactory pyramid: top note, heart note, and base note.
  • Awaken your senses and your olfactory memory.
  • Creating your own Eau de Cologne with citrus and orange blossom notes, using any of the 9 essences provided.
  • Everyone leaves with their creation in a 100 mL bottle, a certificate signed by the instructor, and an “Fragonard”-printed apprentice apron.
  • You’ll then have the opportunity to visit the museum (with an audio guide) located 50 meters from the workshop (45 minutes). There, you’ll discover all the secrets of perfume-making: raw materials, harvesting, extraction, distillation, formulation, industrial production, and bottling.

A fun and captivating experience to share with friends or to give as a gift for a birthday or special occasion.

Not satisfied at all. 90 balls to have only 9 essences to choose to make its perfume really not terrible

We had booked a "perfume" workshop, but in the end it was more like preparing a simple eau de Cologne, which was rather disappointing given the title. The workshop started late because some participants weren't on time. In this case, it would be better not to ask others to arrive 15 minutes early if it's not respected afterwards. As for the creation, mine doesn't last at all: the smell disappears very quickly. What's more, all the participants' creations turned yellow, whereas the host's remained transparent, like the perfumes you see at Fragonard. This raises questions about the quality of the raw materials used. The explanations were interesting, but we had too little time to create on our own, and above all not enough guidance. I would have appreciated better quality materials, as well as more time and advice to create my own fragrance.

Great workshop with a very educational and attentive facilitator.

It's the gift of a box! I would never have spent that kind of money on this activity! You create your own eau de Cologne with essences mainly of citrus fruit, orange blossom, lavender and rosemary. If you like vanilla, sweet or gourmand notes, you'll have to pass.
