Your Truffaut store invites you to take part in a workshop-course on pruning in the garden. You'll learn all the essential steps for pruning different plants and shrubs efficiently and according to their specific needs. You'll learn how to identify the right pruning periods and the right tools for each type of plant.

This workshop is divided into 2 parts: a theoretical part indoors and a practical part outdoors.

Course of the workshop (2h):

Theory:

Introduction, then discovery of the benefits of pruning for plants, with a focus on the importance of pruning for flowering, fruiting and rejuvenation.
Favourable times of year for each type of plant
Tools to use when pruning branches (secateurs, saws, shears, chainsaws for larger plants)
Focus on specific plants: olive, lavender, photinia, Caucasian laurel and Japanese maple.

Practical exercises :

Demonstration and practical exercises (outdoors):
- Locating the branches to be pruned on each type of plant
- Correct use of tools
- Tool maintenance (sharpening, cleaning, disinfecting)
