A unique culinary experience in A Coruña!
Enjoy a guided tour of A Coruña’s famous market, buy ingredients from local producers, and then take part in a cooking class where you’ll prepare a full meal before enjoying it in a friendly atmosphere.
Here’s what’s on the agenda:
- We’ll meet in downtown A Coruña, right near the fish and seafood market as well as the meat, fruit, and vegetable markets. We’ll have a coffee and discuss what we’ll buy at the market and how we’ll cook it.
- Accompanied by a local food connoisseur, you’ll then visit the famous and spectacular market at Plaza de Lugo, where you’ll discover the richness and variety of the region’s produce. You’ll have the opportunity to chat with the fishmongers and learn more about Galicia’s rich culinary culture.
- Once shopping is complete, the ingredients will be brought to the kitchen. In this cozy and exclusive space located in the heart of A Coruña, you’ll be able to enjoy the cooking process and participate in creating the menu before savoring it, paired with local wines and beers.
- Sample menu (for illustrative purposes only; subject to change depending on the season and market availability):
- Appetizers: surprise snacks (depending on market availability), mussels with Godello wine, scallops with ham, fresh cockles
- Main course: paella with cockles and squid
- Dessert: Santiago cake (almond cake)
The activity includes:
- A visit to the market and purchasing ingredients
- Cooking class
- Lunch
- All beverages are included (wine, beer, soft drinks, and coffee)
This experience usually takes place Tuesday through Saturday when the market is open and lasts about three hours. It can be conducted in English or Spanish. The hosts are bilingual.
