Activity description :

This castle is the result of a unique project: building a fortified castle as it was done in the 13th century. Since construction began in 1997, workers have been using only medieval materials and techniques. Visiting this castle is a great way for young and old alike to marvel at the know-how of the time, and to meet the workers who will be able to answer all your questions!

Bonus of the visit :

• The construction of this castle provides answers to a number of archaeological questions: come and find out more about scientific advances in this field!
• Many historians, archaeologists and castellologists are taking part in the project.
• You'll also have the chance to discover how bread was made in the Middle Ages and take part in a stone-cutting workshop.

Opening times :

• Open between 1 April and 5 November, but not every day
• Between 16 May and 7 July: 10am-6pm except Saturdays and public holidays: 10am-6.30pm (closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays)
• Between 8 July and 31 August: 9.30am-6.30pm (every day)
• Between 1 and 10 September: 10am-6pm (closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays)
• Between 11 and 30 September: 10am-5.30pm except Saturdays: 10am-6pm (closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays)
• Between 1 and 24 October: 10am-5.30pm (closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays)
• Between 24 October and 5 November: 10am-5.30pm (closed Tuesdays)
