The conciergerie: royal residence and prison A visit to the conciergerie is an opportunity to discover (or learn more about) a whole part of French history, in particular the period of the French Revolution. The tablets provided for each visitor enable them to discover this place steeped in history. For example, you can learn about the prisons and the life of the prisoners, or the last days of Marie-Antoinette. It's very well done and highly instructive.
