Activity description :

Discover the Colonne de la Grande Armée at your own pace as you climb its 269 steps and wander freely through the museum and grounds. This monument, erected between 1804 and 1824 inhonor of Napoleon I, invites you to learn about the history of the Colonne de la Grande Armée, from the Boulogne camp to the award of the Légion d'Honneur.

Visible for miles around, the silhouette of the Grande Armée column, some 50 metres high, dominates the Opal Coast landscape.
Coat dotted with bees, laurel wreath, scepter topped by an imperial eagle... It's Napoleon in the majesty of his coronation garb that you can admire in the Column Museum.
During the school vacations or on the occasion of national events, tours and workshops for children are offered to help you discover the Column while having fun at the same time.
