A fixture on Marseille’s cultural scene for 25 years, the Musée Regards de
Provence showcases artists from the South in all their diversity through four t temporary exhibitions each year: 19th- and 20th-century Provençal “minor masters,” Parisian painters fascinated by Mediterranean colors and light, and contemporary artists offering their sometimes offbeat vision of the region they hold dear.

The Regards de Provence Museum 🖼️

  • Discover a significant artistic heritage of more than 850 works connected in one way or another to the South of France.
  • Dubout Exhibition – The Art of Drawing Everything (through September 20, 2026), a tribute to Albert Dubout (1905–1976), one of the greatest
French illustrators of the 20th century.
  • At the same time, explore the “Habiter – Gilles Barbier” exhibition (through September 27), featuring some forty works—some historic, others created specifically for the occasion.

Also still available is the artistic documentary on the history of the building, constructed
in 1948 to serve as Marseille’s public health center.

4/5

Private museum where I saw 2 temporary exhibitions: 1 of Bernard Blossu's photographs of the hip-hop years and 1 of a symbolist painter from Marseille, Jean-Jacques Surian. Excellent visiting conditions. Conveniently located next to the MUCEM. Not bad for discovering artists from the south of France!
