Paragliding is generally practised in the mountains, to take advantage of the slope for easier take-off. However, paragliding is also accessible on the plains, as Jean and his team propose from Bassevelle in Seine-et-Marne.

Bassevelle: an unexpected place for paragliding

During your first paragliding flight in Seine-et-Marne, you'll have the chance to climb to an altitude of over 300 m, allowing you to admire the landscapes of the Ile-de-France region and look down on landscapes that are rarely overflown. La Ferté-sous-Jouarre, Montmirail, Coulommiers, Villeneuve-sur-Bellot, Meaux - all these villages in the Paris urban area will no longer hold any secrets for you!

What's involved? The paraglider and his or her partner are attached to a winch that pulls them a few meters for take-off. Once aloft, the cable is released and the ride can begin.

Course of the flight :

• Meet at the base, where you'll be welcomed and briefed on how your flight will proceed, and on the safety rules and instructions to be observed.
• You'll then be fitted with a harness and helmet, and installed in front of the pilot.
• At the start, the cable will be tightened, and you'll have to run a few meters before taking off. Once you've reached an altitude of between 250 m and 400 m, the cable will be released and you can enjoy your flight in complete serenity.
• A paragliding flight lasts around 10 minutes.
• Soft landing.

You'll be accompanied by a qualified pilot, passionate about the sport but always committed to safety. Enjoy this moment of abandonment in the air.
