Kayaking in the Calanques

Self-guided tour – Duration: 3 to 5 hours

Depart from La Grande Mer Beach for a self-guided exploration of the Calanques National Park. Paddle through turquoise waters, admire spectacular cliffs, and explore one of the Mediterranean’s most beautiful natural sites.

The En-Vau calanque, the most famous and the farthest away, is about a 1-hour paddle (depending on weather conditions and your pace). Allow another hour for the return trip, without any stops. To fully enjoy the calanques—swimming, picnicking, or taking the time to explore En-Vau and Port-Pin—we recommend booking a 4-hour trip.

Upon arrival at the water sports center, our partner will provide you with the necessary equipment, and you’ll receive a briefing on how to use it and the safety rules. You’ll then set off on your own toward the calanques for an unforgettable trip.

Know before you go

To fully enjoy the Calanques—whether you’re swimming, picnicking, or taking the time to explore En-Vau and Port-Pin—we recommend booking a 4-hour trip.
Important: From June 1 through September 30, the Calanques National Park prohibits kayaks and stand-up paddleboards from landing on the beaches at En-Vau and Port-Pin. Eco-friendly mooring lines are available; once your boat is secured, you can reach the beaches by swimming or on foot.
Changing rooms, showers (for a fee), and lockers are available on site.
You must know how to swim and have no medical conditions that would prevent you from participating in water sports.
Minimum age: 12 years old.
Included: boat, paddles, life jackets, and 24L waterproof containers.
Please note: Parking in Cassis can be difficult. Please plan ahead to avoid being late. The departure time for your reservation cannot be changed.
