Make your own plant-based inks in this creative workshop. With Delphine’s guidance, learn how to extract pigments from local plants to create natural inks in unique colors.

Workshop outline:

• Discover the main dye plants and learn to identify which ones can be used to make natural inks depending on the season
• Prepare the raw materials by grinding leaves, roots, and other plant parts to extract the pigments
• Make a decoction by steeping the plants to obtain the colored bases for your future inks
• Filter the mixtures, then transform them into inks by adding natural binders, such as gum or a flax-based binder
• Create three plant-based inks, including one black ink, and test them on watercolor paper
• Personalize your experiment notebook by recording your recipes, test results, and color charts.

At the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with three plant-based inks you’ve made yourself, your personalized experiment notebook, and everything you need to continue creating your own natural colors at home.
