Parasailing: Everything You Need to Know About This Activity 🪂

Laughs, thrills, and plenty of emotions: that's the program for parasailing excursions!

An Exciting and Refreshing Activity

What is Parasailing?

This discipline, invented in the early 20th century, during World War I, gradually became popular in the 1980s.

Unlike skydiving, it does not involve free fall: it is therefore more reassuring for people afraid of heights. However, adrenaline is still present, especially for beginners.

How Does the Activity Work?

Participants, attached to a parachute, are towed from a platform, on land or on water (oceans, seas, rivers, lakes...). When takeoff occurs from the sea, using a motorboat, a water landing can be performed. You'll need to bring swimwear and a beach towel.

It is not mandatory to know how to swim. While the winch system usually deploys 100 meters of rope, some professionals sometimes offer an experience at 300 meters altitude! On the day of the activity, you'll attend a briefing before taking off.

If departing by boat, you'll be equipped with a mandatory life jacket and enjoy a cruise before taking off solo or with your group. If weather conditions are unfavorable, your activity will be postponed to a later date.

What Budget Should You Plan?

The price of a parasailing session varies from one center to another. It is often between €60 and €90 per person, for 10 minutes of flight. For flights over the sea, boat rides (between 15 and 45 minutes) are included in the prices displayed by the nautical base.

What are the Occasions to Do This Activity?

A parasailing baptism is mainly practiced in summer or spring, during holidays or weekends. It's a perfect leisure activity for celebrating a bachelorette party or a bachelor party or experiencing a great getaway with your partner or family. It can be offered to your loved ones with a personalized gift voucher, valid for one year.
