Looking for an original activity to do with children aged 5 to 12? La Ferme Ouvert de Saint-Cyr-l'Ecole offers a butter churning workshop for the curious.
Here'show it works: children learn how butter is made. An animator will explain the machines and utensils needed to make butter at the Farm. At the end of the workshop, they'll be invited to taste a roll buttered with farm butter.
The Butter workshop gives access to the entire Ferme de Gally in Saint-Cyr-l'Ecole, including a visit to the animals. Children can admire the goats, sheep, cows, pigs, hair, donkeys, pigs and chickens of the Ferme Ouverte. At least one accompanying adult is required for the farm visit and activity.

Nice explanation. Interesting presenter for the children. Nevertheless, the children left a little disappointed not to take butter with them, or a snack. We understand hygiene standards. Perhaps they should be allowed to touch it, if not taste it.
