Canyoning in the Gorges du Haut-Chassezac

These gorges form one of the region's most spectacular canyons. Stretching from the Vivarais cévenol to the Ardèche garrigues, the Chassezac rises in Lozère at an altitude of over 1503m! The cliffs of these gorges rise up like a wall, separating the massif from the Cevennes. These gorges offer crystal-clear waters and an exceptional range of fauna, flora and animals!

Obstacles: jumps up to 8 metres (not compulsory), abseiling, bouldering, swimming

How does it work?

Your qualified instructor Etienne will meet you at the leisure center. After an equipment session and briefing, you'll have to make your own way to the Haut-Chassezac canyon in La Garde-Guérin (45-minute drive, or an on-site meeting is possible if you're nearby). The activity begins with a 20-minute approach walk. We then spend around 5 hours in the water, alternating between jumps (up to 8 meters, optional), slides on natural toboggans, swimming, abseiling and bouldering. Picnic lunch by the water. Passage of the more technical and physical La Rajole (with handrail system). The return hike takes 1 hour 15 minutes, with a steep climb back to the car.

With family, friends or even a bachelor party, canyoning is always a good way to spend a day in the fresh air!
