The châteaux of the Loire Valley: a superb spot for hot-air ballooning
During this flight, you will be able to fly over one of the most beautiful castles of France over the Loire River, known for its famous two-story gallery built over the river by Catherine de Medici.
Course of the flight :
- Welcome: short briefing and transfer to the take-off site, followed by hot-air balloon inflation.
- Board the gondola and set off for the 1-hour flight.
- Itinerary: let yourself be carried along by the wind, without the slightest feeling of vertigo. Your hot-air balloon flight will take you on a tour of the châteaux of the Loire Valley, departing from Chenonceau. You'll be able to admire this castle on the water, its majestic garden and its unrivalled architecture.
- A gentlelanding by the pilot
- Arrival: tasting of the traditional "Toast des Aérostiers", return to the meeting point by vehicle.
The Château de Chenonceau is a jewel of France's historic monuments, overlooking the Cher River. It is also famous for its splendid gardens designed by Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de Médicis.

Fabien, the pilot, gave us a warm welcome and explained the preparation, installation and operation of the balloon. It's a great experience to share with at least one member of your family! We were lucky enough to get a good turn around the Château de Chenonceau: it was beautiful! We enjoyed taking part, helping Fabien and his team with some of the steps, including folding up and putting away the balloon. To celebrate, we shared a glass of friendship!

- By train: TER - Chenonceaux
- By car: 40 mins from Tours via D140 and D976
Know before you go
- Duration: 3 hours including 1 flight
- Flight: at sunrise and sunset, times depending on the season. These are the only times of the day when the conditions of air stability, moderate outside temperature and light winds necessary for the flight are met.
- Gondolas: 12 to 15 seats
- Season: April to October
- In-flight temperature: same as on the ground
- Bring comfortable clothing and a jacket or sweater.
