Hydrospeed Descent - 2.5 hours - Ages 12 and up

Hydrospeed is one of the most challenging whitewater activities in the Verdon. Equipped with a float, fins, a reinforced wetsuit, a helmet, and a life jacket, you’ll navigate the river as close as possible to the rapids, using the currents to propel yourself, surf the waves, and navigate various natural obstacles. An ideal adventure for thrill-seekers.

How does it work?

After a thorough briefing on safety guidelines and navigation techniques, you’ll head to a calm section of the river to put your guide’s instructions into practice before setting off.

You’ll then set off on a roughly 1- to 2-hour descent through the heart of the Verdon Gorges. Throughout the trip, you’ll learn to use the currents to move along and navigate the various rapids. The guide will adapt the pace to the group’s skill level and abilities so that everyone can fully enjoy the experience.

The descent will gradually take you to the most impressive rapids in the gorges, all the way to the entrance of the famous Couloir de Samson, the true gateway to the Grand Canyon of the Verdon. Before tackling these iconic sections, your guide will review the safety guidelines to ensure a worry-free experience.

At the end of the descent, you’ll take a short 10-minute walk to the parking lot, where a shuttle will be waiting to take you back to the starting point.
