Itinerary:

• At Plaza de Santa Ana, right in the heart of Madrid, we’ll meet the guide and taste gambas al ajillo—shrimp with garlic and chili peppers.
• Near Plaza Jacinto Benavente, named after the Spanish Nobel Prize winner, we’ll sample the traditional tortilla de patatas.
• At Plaza Mayor, a symbol of Madrid, we’ll learn about its history and then sample the famous, crispy bocadillo de calamares at a nearby bar.
• In front of the mural by Antonio Mingote, we move on to local embutidos—cebo, lomo, chorizo, and salchichón—served with crusty bread.
• At Plazuela de San Ginés, just a stone’s throw from Plaza Mayor, the tour ends with the famous churros or a refreshing scoop of ice cream.
