Want to learn how to make your own onigiri? Immerse yourself in the heart of Paris, where our expert Samuel will accompany you every step of the way.
What are onigiris? It's a Japanese snack in the shape of a triangle, consisting of a filled rice ball. It's a very popular snack in Japan!
Course of the workshop (1h to 1h30 depending on the number of participants):
- On arrival, you'll be offered an organic Japanese tea. Samuel will introduce you to onigiris, their origins and everything you need to know about this Japanese delicacy.
- Onigiri-making workshop: forming rice balls with a firm, generous hand, filling your creations with meat, vegetables or fish (vegan option available).
- Finally, you'll apply the nori seaweed sheet found on sushi maki and on your onigiri creations in a variety of ways.
You can take your onigiri home with you, or enjoy them on site. The workshop is also located within an onigiri boutique.
Finally, Samuel will demonstrate the traditional Japanese technique of fabric folding (furoshiki). If you'd like to join in, remember to bring along a thin square of fabric (approx. 40x40)!

We prepared and tasted 3 different onigiris. Samuel introduced us to the history of onigiri, as well as to Japanese cooking and rice culture. A very cool workshop

Workshop scheduled for 1h30 on funbooker and ended up being a 1h workshop. In the description on funbooker, we see the preparation of rice, which is not the case. Otherwise, as I don't know anything about onigiri, it was a wonderful discovery, and Samuel really knows his stuff. It's a shame we weren't shown how to make some of the fillings and recipes, at least on paper. That would be a plus.
