Swimming lessons for children at the Montlhéry pool (91)

New developments in teaching children to swim! With these programs specially designed for students’ comfort and high-quality instruction, provide an effective yet gentle learning experience. In pleasant pool settings, with small groups and a coach in the water alongside the children, everything is done to help students feel comfortable in the water and make progress.

Auto-Rescue® is the first step in learning to swim. This drowning prevention program was created to teach your child survival reflexes in case of a fall into the water, as well as the basics of swimming. The teaching techniques are designed so that your child can have fun without any stress.

If a child falls into the water, they don’t know how to lift their head to breathe naturally. The coaches are carefully selected and trained in the Auto-Rescue® program. They will teach your child how to float and breathe, regardless of depth, for as long as necessary. ​They’ll learn to roll from a prone position to a supine position—skills that could save their life!

And starting at age 5, Swim Stars’ lessons build on the Auto-Rescue® program. After learning how to save themselves, your child will master the fundamentals of swimming and feel comfortable in the water: breathing, balance, and movement.

Course Structure:

• For the Auto-Rescue® program: 6 objectives
  • Entering and exiting the water safely
  • Moving around using the pool edge
  • Jumping into the water
  • Rolling onto your back and floating on your back for 10 seconds
  • Move while floating on your back and return to the pool edge on your own.
  • Number of lessons required: 10 to 12 lessons

• For the Learning Program: 5 goals
  • I jump into the water
  • I roll over (onto my back and stomach) and float on my own
  • I do the “rocket” on my stomach and kick my feet
  • I’m learning to breathe facing forward and on my side
  • I swim on my back and on my stomach
  • Number of lessons needed: 10 to 15 lessons
• For the Performance & Rescue package: 4 objectives
  • Lifesaving
  • Breathing Coordination
  • Wall turns
  • Learning the 4 strokes

Each class lasts 30 minutes to maximize learning and ensure the frequency needed for students to master the skills effectively.

We recommend booking the introductory lesson, which is ideal for trying out the program and discussing your child’s skill level with the instructor. You can then book the 10-lesson package to get started.

At the Montlhéry pool, classes are held at the following times:

• Wednesday: 1:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
• Saturday: 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM
• Sunday: 1:45 PM to 4:15 PM
