Experience cider-making just as it was practiced 500 years ago.

Departing from San Sebastián, this 5-hour excursion will immerse you in the heart of Basque culture and traditions.

Igartubeiti was built in the mid-16th century and is an excellent example of the golden age of Basque farmhouses. It features a well-preserved original wooden framework and houses a wooden cider press. Its interior has been converted into a museum that recreates daily life on traditional Basque farms. After touring the farmhouse-cider mill, we’ll head to a cider house where we’ll learn how cider is made today and taste different varieties of cider.

On the itinerary:

• We’ll meet at the designated meeting point in San Sebastián, then head to the Igartubeiti farm and cider press in the town of Ezkio.
• There, you’ll learn about the apple-pressing process and traditional cider-making methods.
• Next, we’ll visit a cider house and taste natural Basque cider, accompanied by a traditional meal.
• At the end of the excursion, we’ll return to San Sebastián.
