What is a buggy?

A buggy is a four-wheel all-terrain vehicle, usually two-seater, halfway between a quad bike and a car. It has two rear-wheel drive, wide tires, a steering wheel, an accelerator pedal, a rear engine and seats.

There are several types of buggy:

• The classic road buggy, for utility work, and the top-of-the-range buggy.
• The small car, with open bodywork and a small engine, ideal for leisurely strolls.
• The off-road buggy, with large studded tires: ideal for exploring more complex forest routes in mud.

How it works

The tour often departs from a leisure park. Drivers must hold an A or B license and attend a briefing with any accompanying persons before boarding. The instructors will take this opportunity to brief them on safety and respect for nature. Gloves and helmets are generally provided by the center, but participants should bring a long-sleeved jacket, pants and closed shoes.

Any occasion is a good one for buggy touring in a natural setting: vacations, weekends with family or friends, etc. What's more, this good-humored pastime is perfectly suited to corporate events (seminars, team-building) as well as private events (bachelor parties, birthdays, etc.).
