A vegetable garden on the roofs of the Opéra Bastille? Yes, hidden from the view of pedestrians, this 2,500 m2 agroecological and productive garden is now open to a lucky few! Come and discover vegetable gardening in the city, in this unusual oasis of greenery with a breathtaking view of Paris!
Workshop (1h30) :
- Welcome by Mathilde and Arnaud, who will explain the workshop.
- Discover the different techniques and activities as the seasons go by: sowing carrots in March, planting tomatoes in May, taking cuttings from aromatic plants in September...
- Talk to Arnaud or Mathilde about the challenges of greening cities and growing vegetables in urban spaces.
- Each participant will leave with new plants to grow at home or a vegetable garden product to enjoy, as well as images engraved forever in your memory.

This very interesting and friendly workshop led by Arnaud in fine weather was really top-notch, and the view from the roof of the Opera Bastille was breathtaking at practically 360 degrees!😮 Very nice experience and what's more, we came away with different kinds of basil. Thank you Arnaud 🙏🏻

She's a really nice speaker and I'd like to thank your community for getting Mother Nature into the concrete. We need to spread the word about this permacultural activity to change people's mindsets, so that more people are looking to eat more healthily. You've preached to the choir... surprised to find it in the middle of Paris. 👍

Just a word of advice: don't put up a photo that doesn't reflect reality ;). The workshop doesn't take place at all on the site of the photo you're showing, so it's a bit lacking in transparency. But otherwise it was great! A great time with a top-notch framer.

Great welcome from Quentin. An enthusiast. I learned a lot and got to work a bit. The icing on the cake: the following week I bought some beans grown on the roofs of the Opéra in the bulk store where I'm a loyal customer.

A great experience in a truly original setting. Crossing the Opera House to reach the high terraces makes for an original experience, and once you've reached the top, the view is truly unique. An hour and a half doesn't leave enough time to learn many techniques, but the discussion with our guide is very interesting. The tasting of the garden's plants and flowers at the end is also a nice touch. A must do!
