Located above Sassenage, just a few minutes from Grenoble, the Furon Haut canyon isone of the most popular routes in the Vercors for a first-time canyoning experience. Fun, gradual, and accessible, it offers a thrill-packed experience with jumps, slides, and water crossings in an exceptional natural setting.
Guided Tour - 3 hours - Beginner Level
The Furon Haut Canyon is an ideal route for getting started in canyoning. Suitable for beginners as well as groups of friends or families, it lets you discover all aspects of the activity in a friendly atmosphere.
As you make your way down, you’ll alternate between walking in the river, jumps (optional), natural slides, and navigating obstacles—all in the crystal-clear waters of the Furon. Thanks to its gradual progression, this canyon is perfect for building confidence while enjoying thrilling experiences accessible to everyone.
Your guide: You’ll be accompanied by a state-certified canyoning instructor who will guide you throughout the descent and teach you the techniques needed to progress safely.
Your instructor will meet you in the town of Engins. After a welcome, a safety briefing, and the distribution of your gear (neoprene wetsuit, helmet, and harness), you’ll head to the canyon’s starting point following a roughly 10-minute approach hike.
You’ll then set off on an approximately 3-hour adventure in the heart of the Furon Haut Canyon . Throughout the route, you’ll navigate the various obstacles at your own pace, guided by your instructor, who will tailor their advice to the group’s skill level. After the descent, a roughly 30-minute walk back will take you to the starting point.
Accessible and full of thrills, the Furon Haut Canyon is the ideal route for discovering canyoning in Isère, whether with family, friends, or for a bachelor or bachelorette party.
