The Écouges Bas Canyon is a must-do route for thrill-seekers. You’ll explore the lower section of the canyon, known for its playful and water-filled nature, where obstacles follow one after another against a stunning backdrop.

After a start marked by several rappels down magnificent waterfalls, you’ll continue the adventure with a series of jumps (optional), natural slides, passages between boulders, and pools of crystal-clear water. This varied route offers a perfect balance between technical sections and more playful moments, making this descent one of the most iconic in the Vercors.

Your guide: You’ll be accompanied by a state-certified canyoning instructor who will guide you throughout the descent and help you navigate the various obstacles safely.

How does it work?

Your instructor will meet you in Saint-Gervais-sur-Isère, at the foot of the Vercors. After a welcome, a safety briefing, and the distribution of your gear (neoprene wetsuit, helmet, and harness), you’ll head to the canyon’s starting point following a roughly 10-minute approach hike.

You’ll begin the descent with several rappels at the base of stunning waterfalls before entering the most exciting part of the canyon. Jumps, natural slides, water crossings, and obstacle courses will follow one after another for about 4 hours in a friendly atmosphere, punctuated by plenty of moments of camaraderie and thrills. A roughly 30-minute walk back will then take you back to the starting point.
