Leather coaster workshop in Montjean-sur-Loire

Activity description :

Marion welcomes you to her workshop to introduce you to the art of leatherwork through a 100% DIY workshop, where you'll make leather coasters that you can personalize.

You'll work with vegetable-tanned leather, i.e. leather made rot-proof thanks to a subtle blend of water and plant-based tannin.

Course of the workshop (1h30-2h) :

• Discovery of the workshop and know-how
• Marion will introduce you to the different leathers, tools, their uses and how to use them properly.
• You'll choose your leather and finishes to personalize your set of coasters.
• Discover the basics of leatherworking with :
  • Hand cutting with special tools
  • Over-cutting with dies
  • Preparation work
  • Patina and finishing work on vegetable-tanned leather
• Each participant will leave with a set of 4 or 6 coasters, depending on the formula chosen.
