Southern Tenerife: An Ideal Playground for Paragliding
Thanks to its stable climate, the southern part of the island is ideal for flying year-round. Depending on the day’s weather, you’ll take off from one of the high-altitude sites, such as Taucho or Ifonche, and the flight can reach altitudes of up to 900 meters. Below you, the volcanic landscapes and the coastline of Costa Adeje unfold, and the island of La Gomera appears on the horizon. If conditions permit, you can land on the beach.
Flight Details
- Pickup: A vehicle will pick you up at your hotel about 30 minutes before the flight and take you to the takeoff site chosen based on wind conditions.
- Safety briefing: Your pilot will explain the instructions, the run-up, and the proper position to adopt, then fit you with a helmet and harness.
- Takeoff and flight: After a few running steps, you’ll take off for a 15- to 20-minute flight over the coast and mountains.
- Landing and return: You’ll land gently, and then the vehicle will take you back to your hotel. Allow 1.5–2 hours in total.
