Activity description :

Come and learn the basics of calligraphy and illumination in a 2h30 workshop! During this activity, Max will be your teacher and will accompany you as you create your first calligraphy (Chancellery script) or your first illumination.

How the workshop works :

First, you'll meet your teacher Max!
He'll explain how the activity works, and give you all the materials you'll need to do either illumination or calligraphy (your choice, according to your desires).
But what is illumination? It's an ancient technique for embellishing a manuscript with a hand-created decoration.
For calligraphy, Max will introduce you to the Chancellery script, which originated in Italy in the 15th century.
After a few technical explanations and a practical demonstration, you'll be able to create your first illumination: an illuminated letter (a letter of your choice), or you'll be introduced to Chancellery script.
At the end of the workshop, you'll leave with your own creation.
