Immerse yourself in the world of ceramics! Four sessions to fully immerse yourself in the art of throwing, combining technical discoveries, free practice and exchanges in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Whether you're curious, passionate or simply looking for a creative and enriching experience, this "Sunday at the workshop" format is for you!

Workshop schedule (4 sessions of 2h30) :

  • Session 1 (Bol): Learn the basics of ceramic throwing: center the clay on the wheel and make your first simple shape, a bowl.
  • Session 2 (Cylinder): Perfect your gestures to mount the clay high and master the cylinder shape, an essential step for creating many pieces.
  • Session 3 (Turning and decorating): Discover turning to refine your piece and create a stable base. You can also personalize your creation by adding engobe decoration or a handle.
  • Session 4 (Enameling):Learn enameling techniques, choose your colors and finalize your pieces before firing.

At the end of these four sessions, you'll leave with four unique pieces made with your own hands and a solid introduction to the essential techniques of ceramic throwing. A creative and relaxing way to discover the pleasure of working with clay and let your imagination run wild.

Know before you go

  • Color and decoration: During the workshop, you can decorate your pieces with engobes (supplied). After the first firing, they will be glazed in clear by the workshop. If you prefer a more colorful glaze, an additional glazing workshop is available.
  • Collection of pieces: Your creations will be available at the workshop approximately one month after the session. No e-mail notification will be sent. Pieces are kept for up to two months after firing and should not exceed 20 cm in height.
  • Attire: Please wear comfortable clothing and short fingernails. Aprons are provided.
  • Clean-up : At the end of the workshop, each participant is asked to clean up his or her work area and the equipment used (potter's wheel and small tools).
  • The magic of clay : Clay is a living material: cracks or breaks can occur during drying or firing. These hazards are part of the ceramic process and cannot engage the workshop's responsibility.

The workshop includes 4 sessions of 2h30 each, spread over one month, every Friday from 7pm to 9.30pm. Please block the four dates in your diary, as the sessions follow one another and are designed to enable you to follow the creation of a piece from start to finish. The workshop can take place with a minimum of 2 participants. If this minimum number is not reached, the professional will contact you to arrange a new date.
