Create your ceramic pieces from A to Z on the potter's wheel! Akitsu invites you to the heart of Marseille to explore the art of potter's wheel throwing. She'll guide you step by step, even if you're a beginner.
The course takes place over 2 days: a first session dedicated to throwing, followed by a turning session on the second day.
Workshop schedule (3h) :
First day (1h30):
- Introduction to turning and basic shaping gestures
- You'll learn how to knead clay, then center it on a potter's wheel.
- Glaze selection and discussion of next steps.
Second day (1h30):
- Introduction to wheel throwing techniques and tools.
- Turning your own pieces to refine shapes and personalize your creation.
- Turned pieces will be fired by Akitsu and returned to you a few weeks later.
At the end of this workshop, you'll have learned the basics of turning and turnery, and will leave with personalized pieces ready to use.
