Introduction to woodcarving at Entremont-le-Vieux

Immerse yourself in the world of woodworking with Pierre, and spend a day in a group looking for a piece of wood and turning it into a spoon! Guided step-by-step, you'll learn the basics of woodturning and carving as you create a magnificent spoon!

Course of the day (8 hours):

• Welcome with a cup of tea or coffee
• Introduction to the outdoor workshop: finding pieces of wood in the forest for future creation
• Individual and collective reflection on the choice of piece and the projection of the spoon to be created.
• Presentation of the tools required (axe, gouge, plane, knife, etc.) and roughing out of the piece of wood in the morning.
• Lunch break: you'll enjoy a delicious complimentary lunch of local Chartreuse cheeses and charcuterie.
• Individual carving time in the afternoon and finalization of spoons
• Participants receive their own spoon and any remaining pieces of wood to continue carving at home.
• Supply of tools, finishing oils and wood
